Grant Park
Grant Park is a historic Atlanta neighborhood with lots of charm, character, and activity. Home of Zoo Atlanta and the Cyclorama (a must-see for Civil War history buffs), the Grant Park community is perfect for people who want to balance old and new.
The Grant Park neighborhood shares its name with the 44-acre park in its center. Both are named for railroad civil engineer Lemuel P. Grant, a man called “the father of Atlanta,” who founded the neighborhood in the 1890s. The park was designed by America’s pioneer landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Grant Park has benefitted from smart investors and renovators who have restored historic Victorian homes to their original grandeur.
Grant Park is a very active neighborhood, represented by the Grant Park Neighborhood Association, and the Grant Park Conservancy, which raises funds to conserve the green space of Grant Park, Atlanta’s oldest city park. Each fall, the Grant Park Tour of Homes and the neighborhood’s MothBall celebration bring residents together.
Grant Park features a delightful mix of property styles, and has easy access to I-20, I-85, and downtown Atlanta. Price ranges vary from the low $100,000s for a fixer-upper, up to $750,000.
