Morningside
Tree-lined streets and many parks give Morningside a warm and friendly feeling. But its central location and unique history make it an exciting urban neighborhood.
Originally developed in the 1920s as Atlanta was booming, Morningside features many charming older homes, and consists almost entirely of residential areas dotted with parks and churches. In fact there is only one retail district inside its borders—the charming Highland Walk, at the intersection of Lanier, University and Highland. However, its central location makes it convenient to plenty of great stores, restaurants, and activities—with Buckhead and Lenox Square to the north, Virginia-Highland to the south, and EmoryUniversity to the east.
Morningside has a strong neighborhood association, the Morningside Lenox Park Association (MLPA), which was formed in 1965 when it successfully united the neighborhood to prevent the construction of a highway. MLPA is still an active force in the community.
Without compromising proximity to wonderful parks, nightlife and educational opportunities, Morningside is both distinctive and approachable!
Morningside home prices range from $350,000 to $2.5 million
